May 11, 1968

Coincident with the extension of the BLOOR-DANFORTH SUBWAY to Islington, service begins on a new route connecting Prince Edward Drive north of Bloor Street to Old Mill station. Buses operate from Old Mill station via west on Bloor and north on Prince Edward to loop via east on Dundas, south on Earlington Avenue and west on Government Road. Service operates seven days a week, 18 hours a day. This route operates out of Queensway Garage.

The route is entirely in Zone 2, with normal pay-enter/free-leave system of fare collection, with transfer privileges to all connecting Zone 2 services. Passengers must pay a separate fare transferring between bus and subway at Old Mill station.

The round trip distance on this route is three miles, with a round trip time of 20 minutes. A single bus provides 20 minute service.

At the request of Etobicoke Council, through service is established along Prince Edward across Bloor Street. Outside of rush hours, the route is combined with 13 BERRY ROAD, operating from Dundas and Prince Edward to Humber Loop, via Prince Edward, Berry Road and Stephen Drive, diverting in both directions at Bloor Street to Old Mill Station. The new route is known as PRINCE EDWARD-BERRY ROAD. 66 PRINCE EDWARD buses operate during rush hours only.

During rush hours, a single bus provides 20 minute service over the northern Prince Edward section. Between rush hours, two buses provide half-hourly service on the combined route.

The combined PRINCE EDWARD-BERRY ROAD service is made permanent, with 66 PRINCE EDWARD absorbing 13 BERRY ROAD and operating as a single route. During rush hours, service is split in two branches with the original branch operating from Dundas to Old Mill station, and 66A operating over the old Berry Road route from Old Mill station to Dundas.

During rush hours, perhaps to clarify for passengers at Old Mill station which direction the bus was going, through service operates as two branches, with 66B operating "HUMBER TO DUNDAS (via Old Mill Station)" and 66C operating "DUNDAS TO HUMBER (via Old Mill Station).
