Downtown Brampton filming: Overnight Brampton Transit, GO detours, April 30, May 1



From 8 p.m. Friday, April 30 until 4 a.m. Saturday, May 1, the City of Brampton is closing

  • Main Street North between Church and Queen Streets and
  • Wellington Street East between Chapel and Main Streets South

to accommodate a film shoot.

Brampton Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while Main North is closed:

  • 1 Queen;
  • 2 Main;
  • 501 Züm Queen; and
  • 502 Züm Main.

Brampton Transit has also planned detours for two routes that don’t usually have service during the closure period:

  • 24 Van Kirk; and
  • 25 Edenbrook.

GO Transit has not announced service changes during the Main North closure, but passengers aboard buses along these routes can also expect detours or delays:

  • 31 Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto;
  • 33 Guelph / Georgetown / North York; and
  • 37 Orangeville / Brampton.

If necessary, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street North and Church Street, then detour:

eastward along Church East; and then
southward along Centre Street North to Queen Street East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen East.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Main Street North at Church and Nelson Streets West,
  • on George Street North across from Diplock Lane and
  • on Queen Street East beyond Chapel Street and at John Street.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Centre Street South and Queen Street East, then detour:

northward along Centre North; and then
westward along Church Street West to Main Street North,
resuming their regular route northward along Main North.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street East across from John Street and at Theatre Lane and
  • on Main Street North beyond Theatre Lane and at Church Street East.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Centre Street North at Wilson Avenue.

From 8 p.m. Friday, April 30 until 4 a.m. Saturday, May 1, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street North and Church Street, then detour:

westward along Church West;
southward along Mill Street North;
eastward along Railroad Street;
east- and southward through Downtown Brampton Terminal;
westward along Nelson Street West;
southward along George Streets North and South; and then
eastward along Wellington Street West to Main South,
resuming their regular route southward along Main.

  • on Main Street North at Nelson and Queen Streets West and
  • on Main Street South at Wellington Street West.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • in Downtown Brampton Terminal and
  • on George Street North across from Diplock Lane.
