Coincident with the extension of the BLOOR-DANFORTH SUBWAY from Woodbine to Warden, service begins on the restoration of the 62 MORTIMER route, replacing the old combined service of 62 MORTIMER-MAIN. Service operates from Broadview station via north on Broadview, east on Mortimer, east on Lumsden, south on Chisholm, east on Doncaster and south on Main to Main Street station. Service south of Main Street station is provided by the 64 MAIN bus. Buses operate seven days a week, 18 hours a day.

In addition to the above, service begins on a rush hour short turn service starting from Broadview station and following the route to Coxwell, looping via north on Durant, east on Memorial Park and south on Coxwell to Mortimer.

Last day of operation for the 62A “Coxwell” short turn service. Replaced the following Monday (February 18) by a branch of 87 COSBURN.

As part of a series of system-wide service cuts resulting from the elimination of provincial subsidies for public transportation, all late evening service on weekends and holidays is eliminated.

September 4, 2005

Service rendered accessible through the use of Orion VII low-floor buses.

November 23, 2008

As part of the TTC’s Ridership Growth Strategy, service levels are increased so that this route operates at intervals of 30 minutes or better whenever the subway is open, seven days a week. During the late evening on weekends and holidays, the route is interlined with 20 CLIFFSIDE.

May 8, 2011

As part of a series of system-wide service cuts resulting from a reduction in the TTC’s budget at city council, late evening service on weekend and holidays is cancelled.
