Less frequent Lakeshore West GO trains,
May 31 evening, all day June 1 and 2

*Update — Sunday, June 2, 6:44 a.m.: To help fans get home after the the National Basketball Association’s Game 2 of the Championship Series between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors, GO is resuming 30-minute service at 11:43 p.m. tonight.

GO Transit is operating trains along the 01 Lakeshore West line every hour, instead of every 30 minutes, this weekend, as Metrolinx crews replace a section of track at Exhibition GO Station.

Hourly eastbound service starts with the train leaving Aldershot GO Station at 9:01 p.m. Friday, May 3. GO is cancelling the eastbound trains that usually leave Aldershot at 31 minutes past the hour. (These cancelled trains usually end their trips in Union at 41 minutes past the next hour.)

Hourly westbound service starts with the train leaving Union Station at 9:43 p.m. Friday. GO is cancelling the westbound trains that usually leave Union at 13 minutes past the hour. (These cancelled trains usually end their trips in Aldershot at 21 minutes past the next hour.)

Expect delays of as much as 10 minutes behind schedule both ways, as trains slow down at the work zone near Exhibition.

Regular service resumes Monday, June 3.

Metrolinx is also maintaining the tracks between Mimico GO Station and Union Station this weekend, delaying trains by as much as 15 minutes behind schedule.

GO says, “This work can only be completed when trains aren’t running, so we’re doing the work over the weekends to minimize the disruption to you. As we increase GO Train service, we will need to add new infrastructure to accommodate more trains and to maintain our existing infrastructure. To do this work efficiently and minimize the disruption to you, we’ll sometimes need to temporarily adjust service.”

GO has already reduced service along the line two previous weekends this spring:

GO is planning to operate less frequent service along the line one more weekend early this summer:

  • Friday, June 21 until Sunday, June 23.
