MiWay revises routes and services, January 7



MiWay resumes full service along its routes (after having cut back during the holidays), starting Monday, January 7.

It’s restoring regular service along these routes:

And, it’s adding more service along these routes:

  • 3 Bloor;
  • 19 Hurontario;
  • 24 Northwest; and
  • 42 Derry.

It’s accommodating Region of Peel contractors who are working on a project to install new water-mains and sewers on Duke of York Boulevard by removing all service from that street. (The work is just one component of the larger Burnhamthorpe water project to improve water services in the Mississauga City Centre area.) To eliminate Duke of York service, it’s revising the path for these routes:

  • 26 Burnhamthorpe [Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only];
  • 302 Philip Pocock - City Centre high-school special; and
  • 312 Glenforest South high-school special.

(MiWay had previously revised the paths for buses along the 8 Cawthra and 91 Hillcrest - Cooksville GO routes so that those buses no longer operated along Duke of York. GO Transit buses continue to serve the street.)

GO is adjusting the schedules for trains along the 21 Milton line. MiWay similarly adjusts its schedules to maing connections for passengers transferring to and from GO trains at GO stations along these routes:

Starting Monday, January 7, MiWay resumes operating the extra westbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Bloor Street East east of Tomken Road at 2:48 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in City Centre Terminal at 3:07 p.m.

The extra bus accommodates passengers travelling from Applewood Heights Secondary School.

MiWay is also increasing regular service and making another change to service along the route.

10 Bristol - Britannia

Starting Monday, January 7, MiWay resumes operating the extra northbound MiLocal bus that usually leaves Bristol Road West west of Hurontario Street at 2:37 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. The bus ends its trip in Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 3:13 p.m.

The extra bus accommodates passengers travelling from St. Francis Xavier and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Secondary Schools.
