GO upgrading Richmond Hill GO Station

GO Transit contractors will shortly start a project to improve Richmond Hill GO Station.

GO is repairing and extending the train platform to accommodate 12-car trains and constructing a new station building to provide better access to the bus loop, the passenger drop-off and pick-up facility (or “kiss ‘n’ ride”) and the parking lot. GO will also build a new pedestrian bridge over Major Mackenzie Drive East, allowing easier and safer access to local transit for the community.

GO expects to finish the project in early 2016.

The new pedestrian overpass will improve access to the station for passengers who live or work south of Major Mackenzie Drive East.
