Starting March 10, Hanlan Water project
affects more Miway service *

Update — Thursday, March 27, 7:09 p.m.: Lane restrictions on both streets continue until May 6. Construction zone on Lakeshore relocates to extend between Orchard Road and Applewood Creek.

The Hanlan Water Project is the Region of Peel’s largest and most extensive water infrastructure project.

Starting Monday, March 10, the project to upgrade the feeder mains to the Hanlan Water Treatment Plant will affect more MiWay service along two routes.

That day, contractors block traffic lanes on Dixie Road between Bloor Street and Golden Orchard Drive, delaying service along the 5 Dixie route. They’re also blocking traffic lanes on Lakeshore Road East between Strathy Avenue and Haig Boulevard, affecting service along the 5 Dixie and 23 Lakeshore routes. The lane restrictions on both streets continue until March 28.

Since Thursday, September 26, contractors working on the project have reduced traffic lanes on Lakeshore Road East at Westmount Avenue, also affecting service along the 23 Lakeshore route.

Starting next week, MiWay will make significant changes to the 5 Dixie and 51 Tomken routes, anticipating upcoming construction along Dixie and Tomken Roads as part of the project.
