The City of Toronto closed the King Street East section of the bridge that carries Queen Street East across the Don River and Don Valley Parkway to streetcar traffic, starting Monday, September 9.
While this part of the bridge is closed, City contractors are repairing the bridge structures. Starting Wednesday, October 2, they closed the King section of the bridge to all traffic.
The TTC continues to detour streetcars operating along the 503 Kingston Rd and 504 King routes. It’s also now detouring buses operating along the 303 Don Mills overnight route.
Construction continues until Februrary 1.
303 Don Mills overnight
From Wednesday, October 2 until Wednesday, February 1, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Broadview Avenue and Dundas Street East, then detour:
westward along Dundas East; and then
southward along River Street to Queen Street East,
ending their trips.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Broadview Avenue at Queen Street East,
- on Queen Street East at Carroll Street and
- on King Street East east of River Street.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Dundas Street East at Munro and River Streets and
- on River Street at Queen Street East.
Northbound buses start their trips on River Street at Queen Street East, then proceed:
eastward along Queen East to King Street East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen East.Northbound buses skip their regular stop
- on King Street East east of River Street.
Instead, northbound buses pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on River Street at Queen Street East.

From Tuesday, September 9 until Wednesday, February 1, westbound cars operate along their regular routes to Queen Street East and King Street East, then detour:
westward along Queen East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to King East,
resuming their regular routes westward along King.Westbound cars skip their regular stops
- on King Street East at River, Sumach and Sackville Streets, across from Trinity Street and at Parliament Street.
Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Queen Street East at River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets and
- on Parliament Street at Richmond, Adelaide and King Streets East.
Eastbound cars reverse the detour routing.
Eastbound cars skip their regular stops
- on King Street East at Trinity, Sackville, Sumach and St. Lawrence Streets.
Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Parliament Street at Richmond and Queen Streets East and
- on Queen Street East at Sackville, Sumach and River Streets.
The TTC will not be operating buses to replace the cars.
