The Town of Milton is restricting traffic on

  • Main Street East Milton between Wilson Drive and the entrance to Milton Mall

for about two years, starting yesterday, Wednesday, April 11, during a project to build a “grade separation” — an overpass — across the tracks of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Galt Subdivision.

The Town is reducing the roadway to just three lanes: one lane in each direction and a centre lane for left turns.

Passengers riding GO Transit buses operating along the 21 Milton / Toronto, 25A Waterloo / Mississauga and 27 Milton / North York routes and Milton Transit buses operating along the 1 Steeles / Martin, 2 Main and 5 Yates routes should expect delays.

The Town is closing the road completely over two weekends: from midnight, Saturday, May 5 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 7 and from midnight, Saturday, May 12 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 14.
