TTC detours buses starting June 2
for next phase of Union Station project

Update — Saturday, January 4, 2014, 6:31 p.m.: The TTC is canceling service along the 72A Pape via Commissioners and 72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry St branches of the route and replacing them with the new 172 Cherry St route, starting Sunday, January 5.

Also, detours are continuing into 2014 and not ending in the fall of 2011 as the TTC originally announced.

The City of Toronto is reducing the intersection of

  • Bay Street and Front Street West

to just one lane in each direction, starting Thursday, June 2. The City’s restricting traffic through the intersection to accommodate the next phase of the TTC’s project to build a second platform for Union (subway) Station.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along the 72A Pape via Commissioners, 72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry St, 97B Yonge and 320 Yonge overnight routes during the construction. It’s also changing the location of stops for buses operating along the 6 Bay route.

Construction — and the detours — likely continue until the fall.
