YRT detours buses during hospital construction,
starting November 25

Update — Monday, February 6, 2012, 10:16 a.m.: The strike has ended, so YRT buses operating along the 9 **Ninth Line and 18 Bur Oak routes are again detouring.

Update — Monday, October 24, 2011, 9:37 a.m.: Since a strike prevents YRT from operating service to and from the hospital, the construction project no longer affects service.

Update — Monday, September 19, 2011, 7:35 p.m.: Starting today, the hospital is closing all access to the grounds of the hospital and YRT is further detouring buses operating along the 9 Ninth Line, 18 Bur Oak and 411 Markham District High School special via Box Grove routes.

Today, Thursday, November 25, Markham Stouffville Hospital contractors started to build a new west entrance, roadway and parking lot at the hospital.

Since buses operating along several York Region Transit routes pass near the hospital or through the hospital grounds or near the hospital, the work affects YRT service.

Specifically, YRT is detouring buses operating along the 9 Ninth Line and 18 Bur Oak routes.
